Hi there!
We did it, over 500 subscribers now. Thanks to everyone who has read this newsletter and shared any content. If you are new here it is probably because you found me through WeightWatchers or Youtube. Today I have a small write up plus a video lesson.
A couple weeks ago I told you about the 18-mile trail race and the moment my brain said one word: stop.
Since then I've been thinking about what's actually happening in that moment. It turns out your brain is running a calculation. Every time you choose between the workout and the couch, there's a math problem happening in the background, and the couch usually wins.
In my new video, I walk through that math with a real example: a TV show vs. a run, scored out. I also show the one thing that flips the result. A story about a dad, an empty pack of cigarettes, and a rainy parking lot explains it better than any study I could cite.
After you watch, hit reply and tell me: what's the habit you keep negotiating with?
