Hey all,

As always, thanks for subscribing to my newsletter where I talk about ways to stay consistent with exercise. You probably found me through Youtube or WeightWatchers. If you find any of this helpful please go ahead and share with someone!

I also recently covered this topic on a workshop in WeightWatchers and filmed an overview that I will share. Let’s get into it!

Now, a member on a consult recently told me something I've heard a hundred times:

"I wish I could just be one of those people who exercises."

So I asked her what she thought those people had that she didn't. She thought about it and said, "I don't know. They just... do it."

I get it. From the outside it looks effortless, like they were born that way.

And the thing is, she was partly right. Researchers have studied tens of thousands of twins to figure out how much of exercise is in your genes, and the answer is more than you'd think.

Some people really do get a head start. Some get stronger faster (I'll tell you how that played out for me and my brother). Some people's bodies literally feel exercise differently. Even your personality and whether you're a morning person or a night owl play a role.

But here's the important part. The head start is smaller than it looks, and it's not the part that makes someone "just exercise." That part gets built.

In this week's video I break down:

  • What twin studies reveal about who's "born" to exercise

  • Why your friend feels amazing on a run while you feel like you're dying (you might both be right)

  • Why the 5 a.m. workout might be a scheduling problem, not a discipline problem

  • The four things you can build that matter more than any of it

Talk soon,
Justin

PS- on my youtube page I have already published the chair and dumbbell routines for November (just in case baby Ava comes soon!) if you want to check them out.
